The Yankton Area Chamber of Commerce offers many different ways to promote your business

A news release is a written communication directed at members of the news media for the purpose of announcing something news worthy. Typically, it is sent to assignment editors at newspapers, magazines, radio stations, television stations and/or television networks.

A media advisory is intended to drive media to attend a special event. It is sent the day before the event. It answers the what, where, when, why, who and how.

The media list will provide you with e-mail addresses for all relevant news media. Copy and paste the e-mail addresses into the bcc line of an e-mail message. "News release" or "media advisory" should be in the e-mail subject line followed by the title of the release or advisory.

Ag Gala
An annual banquet and meeting to honor those whose livelihood is made in agriculture is held to celebrate the largest industry in the Yankton area.

Chamber Golf Day
Do business on the green.  Members can enjoy a nice game of Texas Scramble (best ball).  You can register as an individual or as a team of two or more.  Chamber members can sponsor different holes and prizes.

Chamber Newsletter
Each member receives a free subscription to the Chamber’s monthly newsletter - designed to keep you up-to-date on area happenings and give you information on area businesses. Members have the exclusive offer to purchase an advertisement in the newsletter (for a minimal fee). Advertising Requirements and Rules

Contacts Over Coffee
This is a great networking opportunity where each member in attendance gives a brief introduction of themselves and their business. A couple of pre-selected businesses give a spotlight presentation. Another exclusive offer for Chamber members is to host referrals over breakfast. This is a great way to introduce members to your businesses and services.  Contacts Over Coffee are held on the second Friday at 7:30 a.m. at the Chamber & Visitors Center Conference Room.

Customer Appreciation Day
A picnic full of food, refreshments, fun and games is held at Riverside Park and sponsored by Chamber businesses.  Customer Appreciation Day is the businesses way to say thanks to the public for supporting the Chamber throughout the year.

Educator Appreciation Coffees
Coffees are hosted throughout the year with local Chamber businesses from various categories sponsoring and sharing information about their industry. This event is part of the Chamber’s education committee.

Membership Mixers
Various mixers are held throughout the year for members to exchange business cards, make new contacts, network and have a little fun. Promote your business to a captive audience by sponsoring a mixer. This is an exclusive offer made only available to our Chamber members.  Membership Mixers are held Feb. – May and Sept.-Dec. on the second Tuesday of the month at different locations.

New Teachers Luncheon
Each August, the new teachers and faculty members from Yankton’s school institutions are hosted at the New Teachers Luncheon sponsored by the Chamber business members.

Visitors Center
The Chamber of Commerce serves as the Visitors Center and information outlet for the City of Yankton, providing free literature to visitors and residents. Chamber members are allowed to display their brochure and business card in the Visitors Center.  It costs $100 for non-members to display their brochure.
