What is the Yankton Area Chamber of Commerce?

The Yankton Area Chamber of Commerce unites over 400 businesses and professional firms, thus creating a unique, central agency working to improve business and build a better community.
   
The Chamber membership is made up of small and large businesses interested in prospering and creating a healthy environment in which to conduct business.  The Chamber is people just like you;  people who realize that through the Chamber they can accomplish collectively what none of them can individually.
   
The strength of the Chamber lies in its members, creating a pool of resources from which can be drawn ideas, energy and finances.
The Yankton SD area chamber of commerce partners with the city of yankton, the Convention & Visitors Bureau and others to make yankton a better place to live and work. The Yankton Area Chamber of Commrce has a long history of promoting economic development in the city of yankton SD  The strategic plan consists of 10 parts:Strategy #1: Communications Strategy #2: Membership Development Strategy #3: Medical Industry Strategy #4: VERVE Re-organization Strategy #5: Education Task Force Strategy #6: Downtown Development Strategy #7: Hyperion Energy Center Strategy #8: Federal Prison Camp Strategy #9: Convention Center Strategy #10: Community Visioning
